Eugene was raised in Alaska on an amazing little island that I love to hear him tell stories about. He spent his youth snowboarding, skateboarding and exploring the backcountry.
Eugene shoots all of the video’s with his DJI Mavic Air drone and GoPro Hero 6. He is a very creative thinker and watching him work is magical.
Robin was raised in Montana in a little town called Trout Creek. Growing up, she spent a lot of time shooting archery, playing basketball and softball and she loved to go swimming with her friends.
Robin has 2 teenage boys, ages 18 and 15. Robin is also in recovery since 1/31/2011. She credits her family, gratitude and positive thinking for her sobriety. She takes a lot of the pictures and does most of the editing and all of the writing.
“Eugene and I met in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho in 2009. We both lived there and we became friends very fast. To just put it all out there- neither of us were ready for a relationship (although we tried with other people). I still remember wanting a relationship with him, but I never encouraged it for fear that I would lose his friendship. Today- I am so grateful that we never “went there” because even though I could have loved him longer, we just weren’t ready. It’s pretty amazing how things work out, because now he is my best friend and my greatest love.”

Why live off the grid?
More than anything we hear people excited for us about “living off the grid”. Often enough we do get skeptics asking, why on earth we would want to live that way? So, here’s our answer for the skeptics…
When Eugene and I fell in love, I felt this pulling deep in my soul. A clarity in my head telling me I was not meant to live the life that society has told me since childhood that I must live. The white picket fence, 2 car garage, big house and overspending on things that don’t ever make me happy. Eugene opened up a world to me that society had slammed shut long ago. I know now that we are not on this stunning planet to go to a job every day. At least not one that we can barely get out of bed for. I don’t want to live for the weekend any longer. I have never been concerned about having a nicer house, car, and clothes than my friends, family or neighbors. We want to spend our precious days on this earth wander-lusting the hell out of it! Every day- a fresh adventure, a new creek to follow, a different insect to encounter and an amazing sunset to finish the day off right. I have always loved writing and photography and now I get to share these adventures doing what I love. I don’t mind working hard so how cool is it that I will get to work hard doing what I love? I don’t need the coolest clothes, the brand-new car, or the latest hairstyle. I just need him, my dogs, and this new thirst for life I’ve been given.
Maybe you already feel this way or or maybe you just want to watch us live the life we were meant for. Either way, this journey is going to be worth watching! It is scary and seems crazy sometimes but we honestly believe with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
